Checking in. Life has been crazy lately, but today was the first day in a long time that I was sing-from-the-mountaintop-happy. It’s the little things that do it for me. I went to see Dirty Dancing, the touring Broadway production, and while it was amazing, the best moment happened when Johnny (played by Christopher Tierney) said that classic line. “Nobody puts Baby in the corner.” There was a collective cheer from the audience, and for whatever reason, the elephant that had been sitting on my chest for months just *poof* disappeared. I finally felt like I could breathe, and it was great. I think it must have been all that positive energy around me. You don’t always realize how much you’re withdrawing from life until something like that pulls you back in and reminds you how good it can be.
Then my brother texted me that he was eating Froot Loops, and this made me smile because, you know, he’s such a dork.
